Appendix C Chassis and Module LEDs
Table C-2 describes the supervisor module LEDs.
Table C-2 Supervisor Module LEDs
LED Status Description
STATUS Green All diagnostics pass. The module is operational (normal initialization
sequence).
Red The module has detected a slot ID parity error and will not power on or
boot up.
or
The module is not fully inserted and does not have a reliable connection
to the midplane.
or
The diagnostic test has failed.
Blinking
red
The inlet air temperature of the system has exceeded the safe operating
temperature limits of the card (a major environmental warning). The card
has been shut down to prevent permanent damage. The system will be shut
down after two minutes if this condition is not cleared.
or
The module is resetting, and both ejector levers are out.
Off The module is not receiving power
ID Blinking
blue
The operator has activated this LED to identify this module in the chassis.
Off This module is not being identified.
SYSTEM Green All chassis environmental monitors are reporting okay.
Amber At least one power supply has failed or the power supply fan has failed.
Red The temperature of the supervisor engine major threshold has been
exceeded.
Off The slot has detected a slot ID parity error.
ACTIVE Green The supervisor module is operational and active.
Amber The supervisor module is in standby mode.
PWR MGMT Green Sufficient power is available for all of the installed modules.
Amber Insufficient power is available for all of the installed modules.
MGMT ETH Green The management port is operational.
Amber The management port link has been disabled through the software.
Flashing
Amber
The management port link is bad and has been disabled due to a hardware
failure.
Off The module has not detected a signal.
LINK Green The module has detected a link.
Off The module does not detect a link.
